What did you miss at CERN yesterday?

Yesterday, students got the opportunity to explore how to make their dreams a reality. During the live Chat, CERN professionals gave their advice on what it takes to get into particle physics, and what kind of jobs there are in the field.

Mei-Li advising on the usefulness of coding
Jonathan, Joel and Mei-Li confirm the range of career paths particle physics can take you down. It’s not all just sitting at a desk!

Next live chat: Tuesday 21 March 12.30pm to 1.30pm GMT

The next live chat will focus on radiation, nucleic weight and antimatter. This stuff is the bread and butter of CERN, so the scientists will be able to answer your questions all about quarks, leptons, muons, mesons and everything in between (literally).

Get prepared by taking a look at the team and scientist profiles. If you’ve got a question for the scientists, you can ask them in the live Chat. Scientist profiles

  1. Follow your favourite teams, from their profile, to stay up-to-date with their work.
  2. The first Quiz is live! Once you’ve explored the team and scientist profiles’ have a go at the Quiz. You could win £20!
  3. Ask a question to the scientists taking part in the Zone. Start off by having a look at what’s been asked so far ❯
