About Me:
I am a PhD student from Poland. I am doing my research in particle physics. I like to play computer and board games with friends and drumming. I love Star Wars, skiing and hiking.
-
My pronouns are:
he/him
-
I'm a member of team AEgIS
-
My Work:
I study different types of interactions and properties of antimatter as a member of the AEgIS Collaboration. I am primarily involved in code development (programming) for the experiment.

All my work is done as a part of a bigger group called AEgIS Collaboration. We aim to understand the properties of antimatter better.
It all starts with simulating processes that we want to observe. Then we need to analyse the results and understand what we can see in the experiment with available equipment. The practical part comes with the experiment, where we work together to build a device that will let us trap antimatter particles and create different types of matter. Ultimately, we must analyse and compare the results with simulations or other predictions.
I do most of my work with computers. I create programs for simulating antimatter physics and analyse different types of data we get. But I also help to develop software for running and controlling the experiment.

My Interview

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
cold-loving and quiet physicist
What did you want to be after you left school?
First plan was an astrophysicist.
Were you ever in trouble at school?
Not really.
If you weren't doing this job, what would you choose instead?
Musician? Maybe a data analyst or a bus driver.
Who is your favourite singer or band?
Foo Fighters! And the close second is The Beatles. But classical music is often on in my headphones.
What's your favourite food?
Lasagne
If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!
Spend a day jamming with Foo Fighters or Paul McCartney. Live in a place with everlasting snowy winter. Go to space.
Tell us a joke.
Albert Einstein, Blaise Pascal, and Isaac Newton play hide and seek in Heaven. Einstein is counting down. Pascal hides behind a cloud, while Newton draws a one-by-one meter square around himself. Einstein looks up and shouts that he found Newton. To which Newton responds: "No, I am a newton per meter squared, so you have found pascal instead."
